Found specifically in the expression einen Pik auf jemanden haben (“to bear a grudge against someone”), a calque of German Low German enen Pik up jemand hebben, in turn borrowed from French être en pique avec quelqu’un, from the verb piquer (“to irritate”); compare English pique. This phrase is no longer in use in German; the adjective pikiert is better-known. Cognate to Dutch to bear a grudge against someone.
