Probably from *Raisjo, shortened from *Raisjoki, *Raisajoki, *Reisjoki (the original name of the nearby river now called Raisionjoki). The latter part joki (“river”) is well known, but the initial component is of unknown origin; Heikkilä (2021) implies that it derives from reisi.
