Taken together with the Latin, these forms could point to a dialectal Proto-Indo-European *raK- ~ *ruK- (“ray”); however, the phonetic correspondences are unusual even within Germanic, and this could indicate a shared loanword or substrate origin for both the Germanic and Latin.
