Where this word comes from

Borrowed from English Titania, the name of the fairy queen in William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Shakespeare took the name from Latin tītānia, the feminine of tītānius (“of or pertaining to the Titans”), from Tītān (“Titan”). In Ovid's works, the Latin form was used as an epithet for female descendants of the Titans, including Diana. The moon of Uranus was discovered by William Herschel in 1787 and was named after Shakespeare's Titania. The asteroid 593 Titania was likewise named after the Shakespearean character. Compare the parallel adaptations Danish Titania, Swedish Titania, German Titania, Dutch Titania, Finnish Titania and English Titania.
