Where this word comes from

Borrowed from Greenlandic angakkoq (“shaman”), from Proto-Inuit *aŋätku- (“shaman”), from Proto-Eskimo *aŋalkuʀ (“shaman”). The further origin of the Proto-Eskimo form is uncertain. It has been tentatively connected with reconstructed forms meaning “to travel, move” and “to strain or try to get free”, possibly in reference to the ritual or spiritual journeys associated with shamans. Cognate with Yup'ik angalkuq, Alutiiq angaɫquq, Central Siberian Yupik angaɫkuq, Inupiaq aŋatkuq, Inuvialuktun angatkuq, Inuktitut ᐊᖓᑦᑯᖅ (angatkoq), and Tunumiisut angakkiq (“shaman”).
