Named after a mansion located close to the current neighbourhood. The neighbourhood itself began construction in the early 1970s. * (Noord-Holland): Attested as Kroonenburg in 1866. Named after a former estate, which may have been named in turn after a former castle near Loenen aan de Vecht.
