Originally ending with a palatal /mʲ/, hence the genitive Radomia, as a possessive adjective, as was also Poznań. The name Radom is a shortened form of Radomierz, for which compare Czech Radomír, Serbo-Croatian Rȁdomīr /Ра̏домӣр, ultimately from Proto-Slavic *raditi (“to care about”), whence radzić.
