Where this word comes from
From West Circassian Долэтджэрый (Dolɛtdžɛrəj) or East Circassian Долэтджэрий (Dolɛtdžɛrij). The name is composed of the Arabic-derived долэт (dolɛt, “state, power”) and джэрый (džɛrəj, “Giray”). Although it is composed of Arabic and Turkic/Mongolic origin elements, it is unique to Circassians within this specific cultural context and came to Turkey from Circassia.
