Where this word comes from

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish طوروق (doruk, “mountaintop, summit”). According to Nishanyan, inherited from Old Anatolian Turkish [script needed] (*toruğ), an unattested, metathesized derivation from the Proto-Turkic verb *toğur- (“to be upright, straight”), inchoative form of *tog- (“to rise”). On the other hand, Çağbayır considers the derivation uncertain.
