Where this word comes from

Borrowed from Hindustani अख़रोट (axroṭ) / اَخْروٹ (axroṭ), in turn derived from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀅𑀓𑁆𑀔𑁄𑀝 (akkhoṭa), ultimately derived from Sanskrit अक्षोट (akṣoṭa). The sense of "Pashtun person" was derived from comparing Pashtuns to walnuts due to their resilience, or mocking Pashtun speakers' accent when they speak in Urdu.
